"I'm the guy who does his job. You must be the other guy."

Once again, 2006 proved to be an excellent year for movies. I had a lot of trouble making my list, and some of the rankings are fairly arbitrary. But I am pretty comfortable with it overall.

As I did last year, I have a couple of mini-lists first.

I watched LMS for the third time last night, and I decided that it really is a good movie. I had been sort of skeptical.

Are you going to do a separate post of Oscar predictions? Or did that happen already and I missed it?

It will be coming later this week, and then of course on Sunday I will be live-blogging the Oscars again this year.

Strangely enough, I like LMS less each time I see it. I should stop now.

Coach-
Studio 60 was whacky as ever (the baby in the guillotine? GENIUS. Although they mispronounced guillotine several times), but it look as if good ol S60 is gonna lose its time slot to some crappy irish family crime drama.

Is this the beginning of the end?

WV:f ky kb. It's a sign. At KB tommorow, "Fuck Kentucky" will be an answer. Hey, it kinda rhymes too.

It is more than a sign; Studio 60 is over. My guess is they will cram in the remaining shows sometime down the line.

But, according to everything I have read and several people I know who have seen the trailer, The Black Donnellys is extraordinarily good.

i really wanted to see bubble, mainly because of the fact that it was the first movie to be released on 3 different mediums on the same day

I think LMS is a great film, mostly because of...

1. Alan Arkin's character, who in my opinion is the best grandfather figure ever to grace the silver screen.

2. The pathetic character played by Greg Kinear. He is so astoundingly annoying, yet hilarious.

Greg Kinnear is remarkable in his role. I really enjoy watching the movie with girls who haven't seen it, just so I can listen to them whimper during the ice cream scene.

Has anyone else seen (saw?) The Illusionist? I thought that was pretty good. Then again, I'm an Edward Norton fan... so...

I thought The Illusionist was ok. I liked the acting, but I cannot imagine anyone being surprised by the "twist." I was not even sure if it was supposed to be a twist, since it could be seen coming from the beginning of the film.
