I forgot my thimble and Socialist reading material

I had a very nice time with relatives, and it was nice to have a couple of days off of school, but now with 2 weeks left before finals, I have a fairly intense workload, including a 15-20 pager due tomorrow.

But, I did manage to see a couple of movies this weekend.

Casino Royale - I very much enjoyed this movie. Some of the action scenes very quite intense, and I liked the darkness of the story and the character development. I think Daniel Craig was excellent, and I liked how the story was not too ridiculous (no invisible cars, etc). This was a fun night at the movies.

Stranger than Fiction -
I loved this movie. It was intelligent, quirky, funny, poignant, and original. It had some Rosencrantz & Guildenstern are Dead qualities that I really enjoyed, and the acting was wonderful. Will Ferrell has never been better, Emma Thompson has long been a favorite of mine, and Maggie Gyllenhaal was spectacular.

I really just liked the way this movie made me feel. Unless I see a lot of great movies in the next month, this one will definitely be on my year-end Top 10 list.

My mom's take on Stranger Than Fiction:

Maggie Gyllenhaal's character=waaaay to skinny for a baker and eater of pastries and cookies.

That's quite a review. Your mom has really gotten to the heart of the film.
