Yeah, stakes in your cold, empty hearts maybe

This may be the most despicable load of bullshit ever produced, and Republicans everywhere should be ashamed of it:

I need to remember to not listen to “Secret Garden” by Bruce Springsteen while I watch YouTube videos; I don’t think the video had the same effect that the Republicans hoped it would with that playing in the background.

Hey, it's get-out-the-vote! I didn't think the GOP swung that way.

doesn't this basically have the exact same message as p. diddy's "vote or die" campaign? i had no idea he was a republican. but to be honest with you, i don't believe that this ad is ENTIRELY incorrect in its assumptions about some things... i mean, its just a fact that Bill Clinton blew it in the taking-care-of-evil-terrorists-before-they-became-a-huge-problem department... at least we KNOW that the war hungry republicans will do SOMETHING... and people run around saying "oh, terrorism is worse because of Bush..." as if the fact that he's doing something about the problem is a bad thing because its pissing off the terrorists. thats a load of bullshit. logically, does it really make sense that we'd be safer with a president who was thought to be not as willing to use force against these people? if they feel like their lives will be threatened as a result of something they do, they will be less likely to do it, period. i dislike war and military conflict as much as anybody, but also a big fan of feeling safe.

But I don't feel safer at all. I felt safer when when we were channeling our resources toward Afghanistan and Al Qaeda, but then we diverted all of our resources toward a non-issue.

By the way, Tom, Bill Clinton is not running for any office this election year, so what's your point?

just an example of a democratic president dealing with terrorism/ extremists.

"...but also a big fan of feeling safe"
This is one of the many detrimental outlooks of American's today - they want to "feel" safe and will sell out our actual security for the perception of it.

i fancy myself smart enough to know when i should and should not feel safe, but i am familiar with the particular left wing dictum that you are iterating.

Yes, it is annoying when people just spout the party lines.

that makes hot bubbly anger well up inside of me.

I'm not sure about you, Tom, but I'm still wondering what the Democrats' plan for the war on terror actually is. On the rare occasions I'm not hearing "Bush sucks!" or "The War in Iraq is stupid," I hear random tidbits like "Let’s concentrate on improving our foreign relations!" or "We'll work through the UN to solve the problem." The UN! Oh boy, I’m on board! Sorry, I think I’ll stick with the status quo.

Well, for the record, the ad only quotes bin Laden and al-Qaeda agents, so it has a valid point... The only part that's misleading is that politicians in power haven't done a whole lot to resolve this issue.

Excuse me. Haven't done a whole lot right to resolve this issue.

Anyway, the War on Terror doesn't exactly split Republicans from Democrats. Last time I checked, the decision to invade Iraq was a bipartisan mistake...

the 'status quo' argument is pretty much my pet peeve, especially among people under oh, 85. better to scoff at the UN and live in your little upper-middle class bubble as the world goes by and innocent people die in droves? sweet.

And yes, it can be rather annoying when all a group does is bad-mouth the leader of the other party.

Or, in some cases, the former leader.

VOTE OR DIE MUTHAFUCKA, MUTHAFUCKA VOTE OR DIE

It is not the Democrats that have prevented implementation of the 9/11 Commission recommendations. The bipartisan commission recommended sweeping changes, from port security to subway safety, and the Republican Congress has done nothing.
So, claim all you want that the Democrats have done nothing, but name one thing that the Republicans have done that ACTUALLY makes the homeland safer from terrorist attacks. (I mean besides phone taps.)
