Federalist 51 and other light reads
I read a very interesting column about Bush and Federalism. The gist of the argument is that basically our government is currently being run in a way that James Madison never imagined in the Federalist Papers, but more importantly in a way that is explicitly unconstitutional. It is worth a read.

What that column suggests is that the leaders of our government need to be above party politics. What a novel concept.
It's not like George Washington or anybody ever warned us against political parties.
And that when the checks and balances fail us, the people should, you know, say something.
