Life is peaceful there

Well it would seem that I am a giant failure at blogging now. As it turns out, having a full time teaching job and taking grad school classes (and trying to have a social life) rally cuts into one's blogging time.

Anyway, I have decided to make a commitment: at least three blogs post per week, and they cannot be "Oops, I'm too busy to blog" posts. Hold me to it.

I had a great and productive time at Grinnell. Our class committee, which is made up of friends, did excellent "class outreach," but more importantly we planned out 15 year reunion for next June. The most important aspect of the reunion will be the reunion Harris Party. If you did not go to Grinnell, which few of you did, here's what that means: The Harris Center is the all-campus event venue at Grinnell, and it can be used for concerts, parties, movies (and once even for roller skating). Anyway, every weekend during college, we could count on at least one good Harris party, sponsored by various student groups or dorms. And it was at these Harris
parties that I developed my dj-ing chops and got the bug for such work. We had some legendary Harris parties back in the day, and at our 10 year reunion, the 5 year reunion students kindly allowed me to dj for one hour during their party. Well needless to say, our class schooled those whippersnappers about how the dance party was done.

Here we are last weekend in the doorway to the Harris Center dance hall.

So this year, we are throwing our very own Harris party, and I already know it will be epic. This may go down in history as the best reunion of all time. They may have to rename the Harris Center in honor of our class.

I have friends in town tonight for a Decemberists concert at the Riviera, where I will be heading momentarily. And tomorrow two of my best friends from high school are coming to town, one of whom I have not seen for 11 years (or maybe more). It looks to be a fun time of reminiscing and catching up!

Have a great time with Jennifer and Mari, 2 young women who have only become more beautiful since their MHS days.

I just want to know what the theme is, and how will you top the "hang stuff from the ceiling" approach.
