Voodoo

In my "Film & Lit: Consumer Culture" class this evening, we discussed Marxism and commodity fetishism. As part of the discussion, our professor showed us a bunch of ads, and then we discussed what Marx might say about them. None of this matters to this post, except that we got to watch this hilarious European ad for insurance:

Hey coach, I recall you posting some time ago about how you liked the first episode of studio 60. Do you still watch?

I only ask because I need to share my joy with someone about this week's episode. It was just too jam-packed with whacky misunderstandings and unlikely scenarios to be sufficiently enjoyed by one person. Plus, it's only part one of THREE!

Hope you watched it, or you missed out BIG TIME.

I did enjoy it muchly. Plus I will be happy if Matt and that crapbag Harriet do not actually start dating because I hate her.

The last bit of this ad is perhaps the first time i've ever felt sorry for clinton. Perhaps. I'm still contemplating.

Great ad though. I wish I had a class like this. You know, in the physics building.

that was totally unrealistic. i mean, somebody at that press conference must have realized that Clinton was being controlled by voodoo...

hears the deal: regardless of your feelings towards harriet, you really don't need to call her a "crapbag." did you ever stop to think that she makes me happy? apparently not.

that being said, we are going to start dating. think of it as my rebellion against you and this blog.

She'll only break your heart, Matt. But I guess some people need to learn the hard way.
