. . . and this is my horse

As someone who likes abstract art, the poetry of E.E. Cummings, and stream-of-consciousness writing, I also get a little bit of a tickle from oddly awesome song titles.

Here are some favorites from my collection. I like them for various reasons: imagery, quirkiness, originality.

and what made me even think of this blog post:
  • "I'm a Big Sister, and I'm a Girl, and I'm a Princess, and This is My Horse" by Underworld (Although this is really the name of a mix of songs, but not quite an album -- More like a medley.) But it is an awesome title nonetheless.

This makes me think of Minus the Bear, a band I love not only for their fine music, but also for their catchy song titles. Some of my favorites:
"Absinthe Party at the Fly Honey Warehouse"
"Pantsuit...Uggghhh"
"Thanks For the Killer Game of Crisco® Twister"
"This Ain't a Surfin' Movie"

Really all the titles on the Highly Refined Pirates release are memorable. And I do love that album. Hmmm...
