yeah, because corrupt politicians are unheard of... leave it up to Bush and his administration to ruin the good, wholesome reputation of politicians everywhere. It really sucks that Bush's entourage would set a precedent like this.

Look, I understand that this is just the payback for Ken Starr and the republicans getting all over Clinton for his measely little "lying to everyone who trusted him and voted for him and for whom he was a international representative" thing, so, just let us know when you're done and you feel like we're "even"...

um, just to clear something up, that last paragraph was directed at democrats in general.

I think lying to the people about the cause of a war is much more severe than lying about whether or not you got a little action on the side, if you know what I mean.

BLAME CLINTON

HE CAUSED THE IRAQ WAR

At 3:07 AM, Blogger Tom posited...

Except, when it's in court, it's called purgery. Bill Clinton is a criminal. and who the fuck is blaming clinton for anything? why dont you people try sticking to the god damn subject instead of putting words in my mouth. and wtf do you mean "CAUSED THE WAR IN IRAQ"??? you act like its the biggest catastrophe in the history of the world. nobody fucking "caused" the war, Joshy, it was voted on by congress. yes people died, yes war sucks, but we helped people in the process. the people who died in the army knew that they were taking a risk, its not like 2000 people have died since the conflict started via random lottery, so grow up and adjust yourself to reality. you people act like george bush is a fucking fascist war criminal executing people for no reason. youre fucking lucky that you live in a country where you're allowed to hate the president. i cant fucking wait until 2008 when hopefully a democrat will be in the white house. nothing will really change. ill still live in a democratic capitalist society where i have my basic freedoms and at least then i wont have to hear all the democrats constantly bitching about problems rather than offering solutions. life will be great, and i wont have to see this nasty side of my liberal friends.

seriously, i thought we were talking about scooter what's his face giving the name of a CIA operative to the media, not the fucking war, but thats what it always comes back to, thats the only issue with which youve got ground to stand on. ive been told to stay on the subject on this blog before, so id suggest staying on topic. now, can we get back to comparing one president lying in the courts whose laws he swore an oath to uphold to another president being in the same administration as someone who gave the name of the secretary of a CIA operative to the media? i suppose not...

All governments are corrupt. Do some research... I´m not approving what GW has done and still does(I loath him and he has made things hard and somewhat dangerous for me at times[when I go to Morocco]), however GW isn´t the only world leader who doesn´t know his head from his ass...

Like I said, do some research and you´d be surprised(try Schröder in Germany and go from there).

The difference is that Libby lied to cover up a CRIME, while Clinton lied to cover up a blowjob. Yes, perjury is a crime, and Bill Clinton is a criminal. But the thing he lied about was not a crime, whereas Libby (innocent until proven guilty) is a criminal who ALSO lied about it.

(What is this "secretary" stuff, anyway? Valerie Plame Wilson was a classified CIA operative.)

I have to say, Tom: your profanity-filled rant to get back on topic seems a little out of place, since you are the one who brought up Clinton in the first place. My post doesn't claim that the Bush White house is the only one full of scandal.

But I also find it quite ironic that you always say Democrats always blame Bush for everything, but your immediate response to my post was to rant about Clinton.

And at the end of your "fuck this fucking shit"-type of rant, you say "i wont have to see this nasty side of my liberal friends." Is that irony? If so, well done.

I will admit to being more partisan than the next guy, and that is not a bad thing in my mind. But is there anything more blindly partisan than defending Scooter Libby, who broke the law, then lied about it, and did all of it out of revenge.

When I originally posted this little Bush quotation, I thought of it as an experiment: Will anyone who reads my blog actually DEFEND Scooter Libby?

I guess so.

At 7:11 PM, Blogger Tom posited...

any rants by me on this particular blog are out of place, ive gotten used to that. and i didnt defend libby, and i didnt rant about clinton, i simply mentioned him once as an example and reiterated later. and technically you brought up clinton first by using a quote that refers to the clinton fiasco... but really, please tell me, where did i defend libby? is it just in the fact that i challenged your original post at all? i can see im going to have to start doing this alot: For the record, I haven't defended Scooter Libby, nor do I intend to, or feel that anyone other than his attorneys can justifiably defend him.

And don't think that the irony of my comment about the ugly side of others didn't cross my mind, even though it was 3 am and i was irate. In fact, i was sure that someone would try to bring that to my attention. and as far as my use of profanity goes, i finally decided that im not going to be taken seriously by anyone who dares comment on this blog, so why not blow off some steam?... and why should i be taken seriously? that would mean that you would give up youre argumentative advantage, its easy when you can make the other guy seem to be full of shit. theres no reason for you to fight fair or take any of my comments for face value or for how i intend them, so what's keeping you from constantly skewing my comments to whatever shape you'd like them to take? its not like there is anyone willing to back me up on here, whereas you've got a small army defending you and the liberal viewpoints... so i'll just continue to say what i feel and expect to have to defend myself afterwards. its funny, because it has been like this since my very first comment on this blog, about your Bush quote of the day... it makes me feel better when i realize that i didn't do anything to deserve this kind of oppositon; ive been the underdog since the beginning.

the point that really wished to make, but couldn't because of my lack of control last night was that clinton is not a bad person, and bush is not a bad person. very few politicians are actually bad people, and yet, factions of political parties get so concerned with bringing someone down and negatively characterizing someone, that eventually, they begin to act as if this person whom they oppose politically is actually a detestable dispicable hideous human being, and its depressing to watch happen (and ive seen it happen from both sides of the spectrum). I understand that the only way that a president should be thought of by americans is just that, a president, and how he performs this duty is the sole factor with which he characterizes himself, but my god, look at what some liberals have become in recent years, and what some conservatives had become before that. politics should not make somebody a negative person. what makes me more angry than anything else in politics is when someone allows themselves to be overcome by their political frustrations. and what angers me about this blogging atmosphere is, that that's exactly what it appears to be doing to me, especially when people can do nothing but misinterprate what i say. what keeps me coming back is that i dont want people to think that ive admitted defeat. i try to find other ways out, like saying that i cant take the slams that i get for voicing my opinion, but it always seems like a cop-out the next day. so i'll just continue. do what you wish with this one, it concerns me no more.

Man looks like all I get is Tom's sloppy seconds in this topic.

Okay, okay. That was pretty shameless.

Sure Dub, it's pretty much obvious that Democrats blame Bush for probably everything including Hurricane Beta which is now materializing and sounds like something out of chapter 9 of my physics book.

And sure, we GOPs like to blame Clinton too. I mean c'mon. We're embarrased honestly. It's kinda liberals now wondering how such an "idiot (synonym etc)" like Bush got into the White House...well we still wonder how some backwards sex-starved Arkansas hick like Clinton put a move on the country and got in there himself.

I'm not even getting into Jesse Ventura. That's beyond wondering.

Sooooo anyway.

I have no logical argument I even want to make because I'm sure (although I really didn't read much of it) that Tom covered all the basics in an very incensed mannor. So I'll leave it be.

this entire fiaso is all over the news! I just got done watching it in arabic(on the moroccan/egyptian channel). *shakes head in disgust*

Bill was anything but backwards. He was a smooth operator.

Good points, Tom. I agree with you about politicians not being bad people. I don't think Bush is a bad person. Karl Rove on the other hand . . .

And just so you know, it has never been my intention to scare you off. As I said before, I'm glad you participate

At 3:01 PM, Blogger CoachDub posited...

And yes, Parker... Clinton was sex-crazed, but he was not a hick. He is intelligent and savvy. Yes, a bit of an embarrassment, but not a hick.

At 5:26 PM, Blogger Tom posited...

karl rove = wormtongue
GWB = King Theoden

what great republican will play the part of Gandalf, and beat Bush with a big wooden staff until he loses these crappy advisors?...

At 5:58 PM, Blogger J0hn posited...

John McCain, of course.

Even more importantly, who is Aragorn? It is him, afterall, who eventually unites Rohan (the Red) and Gondor (the Blue). Personally, I think Taylor Stevenson is this man. He already has the rugged beard going.

At 6:35 PM, Blogger matt posited...

this all goes back to my plan of Stevenson/C. Oseland in 2028 (or something like that. im too lazy to do the math)

At 6:49 PM, Blogger CoachDub posited...

In 2028, when I am 55 years old, if Stevenson/Oseland are on the ticket, I will have contracted leprosy, the bubonic plague, and the bird flu. God willing.

At 6:59 PM, Blogger CoachDub posited...

Oh, I didn't mean this as a slam against Tay or Oseland.

I just really like diseases.

At 8:22 AM, Blogger Erik posited...

lol, I am always way behind on this blog. By the time I get here, we've gone from serious political debate (or however serious swear-filled ravings and sarcastic remarks completely denying the message of said ravings can get) to Stevenson-Oseland in '28.

At 5:12 PM, Blogger P "N" K posited...

K Dub, yeah you're right.

Clinton WAS/IS really smart. I'll give him that. No doubt.

He just talked and acted like a hick. There we go.

That thumb thing with the lip that hammond always made fun of on SNL? That kills me.

At 8:39 PM, Blogger J0hn posited...

Its Clinton's version of the Dumpster Slap.
