LiveBlogging The Oscars

I'll be trying something new tonight. This software called Cover It Live will enable me to post in real time without having to keep editing and refreshing. And apparently it will turn the blog into a sort of chat room. And I guess I can put up poll questions, too. All of this assumes that anyone joins in and/or cares.

Here is my ballot with my Oscar picks, In case you're interested.

i saw mamma mia....

in the theater....

and all i can really say is that it made me hate meryl streep... more...

to me this movie just embodied the seemingly universal sentiment, "Meryl Streep is SO amazing and talented and, oh my god she is so BEAUTIFUL... I wish that I was her..."(more prevalent among women...) and so by showing 2hours of Meryl living every middle-aged woman's fantasy, they figured it would be a box office success.

i imagine 30 million fourty/fifty-somethings staring wide, glassy-eyed at the screen, white knuckled, crushing their scarves/kerchiefs/knit hats/sno-caps, then crying themselves to sleep later on... maybe i'm just an asshole.
