Forrest Fest

I'm at a family reunion this weekend for my dad's side of the family. We have not ever really had a reunion, and sadly I had not seen a few family members for about 12 years. But we have all gotten together in Galena, Illinois at a very beautiful and sprawling resort. I'm staying in a big four room house with my dad, his wife, and my brother and nephews. The main event of the reunion will be a big cookout at the house today.

I've enjoyed catching up with some aunts and uncles, seeing cousins and meeting their kids (my first cousins once-removed!), etc. We have games planned for later, and then tonight my generation of cousins will be heading to the nearby casino.

Forrest Fest is named after our grampa, and his spirit is all around!
