"My mom has shingles."

I saw a couple of very entertaining movies over the weekend . . .

I Love You, Man
I found this movie to be extremely entertaining and very, very funny. Paul Rudd has proven himself an outstanding comic actor in many previous films, and he does a great job here, especially in the scenes in which he tries to find a nickname for his new best friend. Jason Segal, so great in Forgetting Sarah Marshall, is kooky and hilarious here as well. Rashida Jones, Jaime Pressly, and Jon Favreau round out a very funny ensemble. I laughed a lot at this one.

Adventureland
This movie was not only hilarious, but romantic and warm-hearted as well. Writer/director Greg Mottola, who directed the awesome Superbad, mines similar but more tender territory here. Jesse Eisenberg is perfectly cast as a brainy college grad forced to work at the local amusement park. Kristen Stewart plays his love interest, and she does a good job as well. Bill Hader and Kristen Wiig (both from SNL) are of course hilarious. The real star though is the script (and the soundtrack!). The movie hits all the right notes, creating a realistic and relatable story of love and youth. This movie has some very, very funny moments. I loved it.

And of course, Go Cubs!

Greg Mottola didn't write Superbad, Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogen did.

Well, duh. Everyone knows that, Erik.
